Adjust Position for Network Quality

The signal strength from the upstream node at the location is near the algorithm threshold, causing the node to change its parent nodes frequently, resulting in an unstable and losing network. We advise you to adjust the position of nodes flexibly to balance network stability, quality, and coverage.

I looked at a few different mesh systems before deciding on this one. There’s only my wife and I at home and although both of us use the internet a lot, neither of us uses massive amounts of bandwidth. We just need a good wifi signal around the house We recently had a lot of building work done with the installation of a fair amount of extra steelwork. We also changed broadband providers and wifi from their router was appalling. So after a bit of research, I bought a cheap TP Link modem / router and this Tenda Nova MW3 system. I wanted the TP LInk to do the routing and the MW3 to do the wifi. I set the TP link up as the modem/router and switched wifi off on it. I then set the Tenda Nova MW3 up in bridge mode, so that I was just getting the mesh wifi system that we required. We now get an excellent wifi signal everywhere in the house and out into the front and back gardens. There is nowhere on our property that we can’t get a decent signal at almost the full speed of our broadband. They were really easy to setup. There are faster mesh systems on the market but they cost a lot more and we just don’t need all the extra features they promise. Also remember that it doesn’t matter how fast your wifi is, if your broadband is slower, you won’t benefit from faster wifi unless you’re transferring files across your internal network. All we want is a decent signal at a decent speed. We’ve got that at less than half the price of the other systems I was looking at.

Replaced BT WholeHome 3 disc set up – which didn’t quite cover the whole house and didn’t reach garage or garden, and poor speeds in bedroom wherever we placed them.
Easy-ish installation – one unit was a pain, otherwise quick and simple – all updated and now have just worked for a few weeks with amazing wifi 6 speeds for wifi 6 devices AND the non wifi 6 devices also have a rock steady and fastest ever connection.
Garage and Garden also have a rock solid fast connection too as does every nook and cranny in the house.
Recently purchased Sky Stream as FTTP installed and thought I was going to have to run Ethernet cables to the lounge due to where the fibre came into the house, router now in the hall – but the rock solid wifi connections this has given me means I don’t have to – result.
Purchased just before Prime day at a higher price, but a quick on-line chat and Amazon refunded the difference (otherwise I would have re-ordered and returned!) At the offer price I say these are a bargain.

I was looking at mesh wifi for some time but the cost had put me off, then I came across the Tenda Nova system at a much more reasonable price than the competition, only the BT System come any where close in terms of cost and specification and it has mixed reviews, so I took the plunge and bought the Tenda system.
The system consists of three identical units, one of which you connect to your cable or fibre modem via an Ethernet cable (supplied) you then configure this unit via the app to get it online (at this point I couldn’t resist testing the wifi signal and it already blew away the original ISP supplied router in terms of coverage)
Once the first node is online you simply place the other two nodes in strategic points around the house, they connect back to the first node via wifi and to have a mesh network.
I have checked signal strength throughout the house and I get full signal pretty much everywhere (not the biggest house but a tricky shape with lots of internal walls and awkward corners), the signal also hands over pretty much seamlessly between nodes, I have tried a Skype video call and you can move from one end of the house to the other with no drop outs.
The old system of a router and a booster to fill the dead spots feels really agricultural compared to this system, devices never wanted to handover to the stronger signal, instead hanging on to the first signal they connected to, very frustrating.
The free Tenda app allows management of the system including set up of a guest network and blacklisting of devices, grouping of devices and timed access for parental control.
So far I am completely happy with the purchase and I have had zero complaints about wifi from the kids which I take as a huge thumbs up.
I cannot comment on reliability at this point due to the short time since install but so far so good

After replacing the flooring in my house, the foil-like underlay reduced the signal to the first floor and totally blocked it in the second floor.
After installing one Wi-Fi range extender, I was able use the Internet in the second floor, but really slow and the annoying fact to manually disconnect from one Wi-Fi to connect to the other, as the names are different, despite the same password and one being just “bridging” it.
Now the Wi-Fi signal is at 100% at any place in the house, as the new kit redirects you to the nearer box. As the Mesh truly bridges the original network, there’s no need to disconnect/connect.
There’s a lot of options and customization available, clearly in my case, this system is an overkill.
Now the speed: I didn’t try to transfer files between computers, as I just have one desktop connected, 2 smart TVs and the PS4, plus the mobile phones.
I’m achieving about 90-95% of the 100mbps from my Virgin Broadband in the first floor. Connecting the desktop to the box, using a RJ45 is giving me better results. Wi-Fi gives about 80-85% of the 100mbps.
In the second floor is about 70-75% of the 100mbps, Wi-Fi. Didn’t try connecting the desktop there yet using the RJ45.
Few other benefits was being able to connect my PS4 using the Ethernet, much faster than the limited 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
Also was able to use online features from my Smart TV, as it is one of the “old” ones without Wi-Fi, and the dongle is eye-watering expensive.
Considering the price, and all the functions available, this item is a real gem. It will give you, not only a very good Wi-Fi coverage, but delivery very good speed, plus the flexibility to have 2 devices connected in the box via Ethernet cables, as if they inches from the original Broadband source.
    Loving it.

I have been debating on and off between getting a mesh wifi system to hook up into my current Vodafone broadband. After watching some videos online I was convinced and hopped on Amazon to see the current deals – I wanted to have WiFi 6 as this seemed to be the current standard. Luckily I came across this product and after watching a few reviews I was convinced. When I received the MX3 from Tenda I was struck by the great quality looking routers, very small and lightweight but also stylish. I like that they also come with screw mounts build in to the frame of the router, as I will likely wall mount these across the house.

Set up was incredibly easy, I plugged in the main controller into my vodafone hub by ethernet and boom a new wifi system emerged. I did the initial set up using my laptop and then switched to the app. After plugging in all 3 routers and performing firmware updates and also splitting the SSID into 2.5G and 5G bands I was in business. I turned off my old wifi and reset up all my devices.

I have a fair few smart devices linked to my network (smart thermostat, cctv camera on my garage ( some distance from the house) and various smart plugs, lights and Alexas) and I immediately noticed my speeds and connectivity have improved. I get get nearly full speed connection anywhere in the house and switching to the 2.5G band I can get connection from across the road and the back of the garden. I’m due to upgrade soon to Virgin full fibre and hopefully my speeds will get even better with this mesh system. The network has been super stable with no blips or drop outs.

Overall I’m extremely pleased with this product and for the price – I paid £99 for a 3 router kit it’s been a fantastic purchase! Would recommend to anyone.

If I was being a slight critic the app is definitely a bit dated and could do with some TLC or an update from Tenda.

I bought these as our home wifi coverage was dismal, much more than 20 foot from the router was unusable. We have a bog standard 60’s era brick and block semi, so it’s not like we live in a castle with solid stone walls.
We have a strange setup in that half the equipment in the house is physically wired to the router with ethernet connections, while any mobile or portable relies on wifi.
Installing the Tenda wifi mesh units was very simple, I turned off the wifi on our EE brightbox router, downloaded the Tenda app on my phone, plugged the first unit into the ethernet switch we use and that was it. The light went blue in seconds, far quicker than it took to plug the next Tenda unit in in the next room, then the third by the back door. Once all three were in place, we now have in excess of 35mb wifi from the front of the house to the back garden, even the garage has 24mb. The only issue I had was with our Sonos speakers, they went off the original EE brightbox ethernet port, the way round it was to plug all ethernet devices (our ethernet switch) into the ethernet Out port on the first Tenda unit so now the whole house is on either the Tenda wifi or the Tenda ethernet port. Everything works very well, and I am more than happy with this purchase.

I was using the TP link extenders that plug into the mains and our WiFi signal was awful. There were different network names depending where one was in the house, there were multiple black spots, the down load speed was awful and the internet connection kept dropping. The Tenda Nova Mesh has revolutionised our lives. My son-in-law set it up but I’m sure I would have managed on my own! You do need to be patient and it helps to read the instructions provided which were clear, although he downloaded the app onto my phone and did it intuitively. We needed 3 pods to give complete coverage in a 1930’s 5 bedroom, 2 storey house and the down load speed is superb (70-. Now we can watch different movies without issues of buffering, dropped signal, too many users etc. The pods are small and unobtrusive and are plugged into the mains by a lead. Download speeds are 80-100 Mbps with up load speeds of 20-28 Mbps. Early days but assuming these units are durable then I can highly recommend this as excellent value. I haven’t tried tech support yet – I’m hoping I won’t need to!

I watched a couple of YouTbe videos about setting this up before I bought it. Having seen them I thought it looked straightforward. I wanted my desk computer still Ethernet connect so the biggest restriction was about location of the box that had a wired connection to the modem which also needed to feed a cable back to myiMac. That was a piece of cake thought. Once connected working through the setup was easy with the app downloaded on my iPad. The satellite boxes just needed plugging in. My chosen locations were fine and they pretty much did It themselves. I guess if you have a more complicated layout moving a box slightly closer to the wired box might prove awkward if there is not an appropriately located plug in point but I guess that would be a rare occurrence. It is pretty easy to set up but if you are not confident do check out setup clips on YouTube and you should be reassured that it is quite simple.

It is not cheap but it is one of the cheapest mesh systems I have seen and the performance is very good, reviews I have seen say that it performs as well as more expensive rivals. I can now watch stuff on my iPad (iPlayer etc,) with my cup of tea in the morning without outages, reboots, the frustration of the programme restarting quite a bit before it stopped and being a ious about trying to skip it forward in case it stops again.

The cubes look good and the signal indicator light is just a muted blue. My previous attempt at a wi fi extender had almost constantly flashing blue light. It was like having Christmas light on all night in the bedroom. This is nothing like that, very discreet.

Not really one to review stufff I buy but felt these are so good I had to let others know.

I purchased these as I like many others had poor WiFi performance using the EE supplied super hub due to the design of my house.

We have a 5 bedroom new build and the signal at the back of the house was intermittent when streaming on smart TVs ect.

After setting up the 3 cubes in a mesh, one by the router plugged directly to the EE hub, 1 in the back middle bedroom and 1 in the Lounge we have full strength WiFi in every room and the Garden.

Our broadband speed is 78mb and we get 25-30mb on WiFi in every room.

I found turning the WiFi on the EE hub off completely but remaining the Mesh network the same name and using the same password worked great as i f a guest wants to join our WiFi the code on the router is the actual WiFi password. I use the mesh network in bridge mode.

One of the other great features is each cube has an Ethernet output. This increases the download speed massively. I have a Plex server running on my Mac plugged directly into the router.
My Apple TV 4K in the lounge is then hardwired into the MW6’s ethernet port with the speed test reporting 67-69mbs download.

The big win was my full blu ray and uncompressed 60gb 4K rips now stream to the living room

(I do only rip a 5.1 AC3 sound track not Atmos or HD sound due to limitations of my Sonos system)

So happy with this 18months after purchase and they are still doing an amazing job.

Forget home plugs and WiFi extenders and pay the money for the mesh system. I have recommend to several friends and relatives who have bought them and are as happy as I am.

This product is brilliant. I wish I had bought it years ago. This simply solves all Wifi issues, removing all dead spots in our house.

We have a Virgin Superhub in the living room, which left massive dead spots in bedrooms, back of the house and certainly was not capable of reaching the garden. Also our Superhub had continuous issues, needed resets every week.

With this new system all that is resolved. I switched the Superhub to “modem” mode, which switches off the Wifi, and connected it to one of the Nova boxes, and put two other Nova boxes in other rooms in the house. Now we have high speed wifi everywhere, including in the garden. And I have yet to have any issues or need to reset it.

Before this I tried a range extender but that did not solve anything. It did not add much range, and because it emitted a different wifi to the superhub, our phones would “stick” to a weak superhub signal rather than switching to a stronger signal from the extender when walking through the house. Since the Nova boxes hand over to each other seamlessly, that issue does not occur.

Setup was easy, with only a brief issue with our Sonos system which was a bit finicky until I simply plugged the Sonos bridge (later upgraded to a Boost) directly into the Nova main system, and then I had to set up the Sonos system from scratch (adding one speaker at a time). A bit time consuming but it now works like a charm.

    Highly recommended!!

I’m writing this review from the extension at the back of my house. Before I got the Tenda Nova MW3, there was zero signal here, now I have a full strength signal.
I live in an old Victorian house with thick walls, and getting a decent WiFi signal from my Sky router from anywhere except the front room (where the router is) was always a problem. I’d been looking at getting a mesh system for a while, but the price put me off. I read a review about the Tenda Nova and decided to give it a try.
Set up was so simple. Download the Tenda app to your phone or tablet. Plug in the first box into your router/modem. Find the WiFi signal on your phone, log in with the password printed on the underside of the box, place the other 2 boxes where you need them and you’re done.
There is a light on the boxes which stays green if you have a good connection, or orange if it is poor. As long as each box is within 10 metres of each other, you shouldn’t have a problem.
I placed one in the front room next to the router, the second upstairs in the middle bedroom and the last one downstairs in the back extension, and I now have a full WiFi signal throughout the house.
I’m no techie, all I wanted was a good internet connection without any hassle without paying silly money. This certainly delivers and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for the same!

Bought this based on other reviewers and I’m certainly not disappointed. I chose tenda because it’s half the price of equivalent mesh systems and gets loads of positive reviews. We have a challenging house for WiFi that’s long, with brick walls all over it. I really wasn’t winning with the router and range extenders solution.

Firstly Set up: as promised by other reviewers, it really is a 20 minute job. Plug the first node into the router with the included Ethernet cable and download the app. Set up is self explanatory and easy. Then, simply plug in the other 2 nodes wherever is convenient in the house and they sort themselves out, appearing green on the diagram on the app within a few minutes.

The outcome: amazing seamless WiFi through the whole house and even garden. I can’t believe we didn’t do this sooner. If you have any doubts about the price of this mesh compared to others, don’t. Just buy it. Works really well, Simple set up. What more is there to want.

Final point: there is the facility for wired “backhaul” with these units. It took me ages on the net to work out what this is. Basically, you set the nodes up wirelessly as above, but then you plug each one on to your router or switch via a single cable going from the tenda “wan port” to the router or switch. Ie 3 cables going though the house. This will speed up the WiFi to blistering rates by carrying back the way traffic from your device to the internet by the Ethernet cable, leaving the wireless channels to carry only outgoing traffic from the internet to your device. You certainly don’t need to do this. I haven’t, and I’m really happy with the speed. However I now have a project, and am going to run some Ethernet when I get a chance, to improve the system. It’s nice to have the option, not all mesh systems have this.

    Very happy customer, recommend tenda!

My husband has been searching for a mesh system for a while and he was inclined to buy a TP-Link but most of them don’t allow you to split the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi frequencies but this one said it did so he ended buying this one. In his opinion, comparing to more popular brands, the downside is the UI. It’s not that it’s bad..it’s just not as user friendly as TP-Link one for example and if you’re a person with little knowledge, this mesh system might not be right for you, unless you’re a patient person and perseverance is your middle name.
But if you’re knowledge is above average, then this mesh system is a no brainer!
It ticks all the important boxes and so far it didn’t let us down regarding to coverage and stability. In fact, it exceeded all our expectations. Our house has very thick walls and feels like we live in a bunker and with this mesh system, the lowest we got was 20% loss of speed in the furthest corner of the house (which for us is amazing because with PLCs we had like 80% loss).
expert tip: whilst doing the setup, once the main node is up and running, just manually add the remaining nodes…it’s a very easy process and it will save you tons of time in comparison to automatic setup. Our system kept registering and deregistering the other nodes until we decided to do it manually which consists in tapping for the app to scan nodes around and you tap on the SN of the node you want to add and voilà! Overall it’s an extraordinary mesh system with all the features most people will need with an UI that might not be for everyone but we would still recommend it👌

Ok so I’ve had this 3 box Tenda mesh system running for nearly 3 months without any issues, one in the lounge, one in the main front bedroom and one in the shed about 13 mtr from the lounge box.Never had anything less than a strong blue led on all 3 boxes and never crashed or lost connection, you forget it’s even there. As for performance it’s connected to my Virgin homehub(in modem mode)200mb connection download 12 mb upload and I get that speed all over the house,I have Sky Q connected to it,my WD mycloud Nas server,4 smart TVs,7 Amazon Echoes,3 ipads,3 phones, numerous smart switches and smart bulbs. My WD mycloud has loads of high bit rate Mkv files of my Blu Ray collection, which used to buffer on my old Archer C9 in the front main bedroom,I can now play 3 different movies simultaneously with no issues on bedroom TVs,4 and it starts to have issues, but as there’s only me and The misses it’s never going to be an issue,if you had lower bit rate files like dvd rips or mp4 movies I’m sure you could stream to maybe 10 TVs at once.Just checked the Tenda app and I have 37 devices currently running. So I can wholeheartedly recommend this set up it works for me.
PS almost forgot to mention my main box in the lounge which is connected to the Virgin Homehub,in the lan output I bought a £6 TP Link Ethernet add on box to connect Sky Q,main TV and WD Mycloud with lan cables.

Given five stars on the basis it does well what I bought it for – extending my WiFi connection from the front of the house right through into the back garden for working purposes.
It was quite confusing to setup, granted England we’re playing (installing this was a welcome distraction) but it just didn’t seem to do what the instructions were expecting it to do, several attempts to access the URL provided failed, multiple restarts of the units to factory settings seem to be required before it jumped into life – I couldn’t be 100% certain of being able to install it again but whilst it’s up and running I certainly can’t complain!
