Built-In Access Point Mode
RE550 is more than a wireless range extender. Simply plug an Ethernet cable into its Ethernet port and easily turn your wired internet connection into a 3×3 MIMO dual band wireless access point.
Secure One-Touch Connection for Easy Setup
Step 1: Simply press the WPS button on your router and, within 2 minutes, the WPS button on RE550 will connect to the network. Step 2: Once connected, place RE550 at the best location—without reconfiguration.
Why is my internet speed much slower when connected through the range extender?
Range extenders wirelessly repeat your router’s signal and should be placed about halfway from it. They operate in half-duplex mode, meaning slower speeds
since they can’t send and receive data at the same time, unlike wired connections. My extender connection keeps dropping or is unstable. What can I do?
Unstable connections may occur due to distance, thick walls, interference (e.g. microwaves, metal. cordless phones, or outdated firmware, Move the extender
closer, avoid interference, and update firmware via Tether app or web interface. What is AP mode and how is it different from extender mode?
AP mode connects to your router via Ethernet and creates a Wi-fi signal-ideal for faster, stable performance if you have a cable available. Extender mode
wirelessly repeats your router’s signal but may reduce speed due to half-duplex operation. Can I install multiple extenders in a large home?
You can connect multiple extenders, but we recommend a max oftwo and direct connections to the router no daisy-chaining). Use diferent Wi-fi channels to
reduce interference. For better coverage, consider a Deco Mesh system with seamless roaming. My extender doesn’t work well with Vodafone or SKY routers. Why?
- This isn’t a compatibility isue. Some vodafone/SKY routers send special Wps signals, making the extender create a long random pasword. Reset the extender
avoid WPS, and set up manually via Tether or web using the correct Wi-Fi password.

My problem was that I needed to take my WiFi signal and turn it back to a cable connection before connecting it to a power line extender to be used in my office. This has done the job perfectly. And save the time and effort of running a long lan cable underground.

I hardly take the time to write a review but this one really deserved me to make time and let everyone know what a great little gadget it is! It’s improved my WiFi signal from a dot to a FULL wave super speed service! Well done TP-Link! Highly recommended 👌

It absolutely works. Easy to connect and works well in a massive student house with terrible WiFi.

Day 2 Review. Easy to set up, great coverage now in my 4bedroom house. Looks great and well fitting to the sockets. Got on prime day deal, 47 pounds, supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz, can name it separately and choose which one you want. Speed slightly lower to the main router , but great enough to cover dead areas at reasonable speed.

My Virgin WiFi signal was poor to intermittently non existing on 2nd floor of house. RE550 is now boosting and extending the signal to full speed. No cable needed (as some reviews say). Took few attempts/methods to pair device with my hub, but once done and device plugged to socket upstairs signal was great immediately.

Easy to use and one that works! I have. Tired using other extenders and they didn’t make a difference but this gives a boost to your WiFi and make the WiFi coverage push further. Good value for money and a good size . I’ve not used parent controls or the option as don’t need it so can’t comment on that aspect .
Though the only downside to it is the extender blue light glows really bright so if you put it in your bedroom or somewhere you relax the blue glow may start to get a annoying, this is the only thing

So happy I got this , it was easy to set up ( not good with technology ! ) and works a treat , giving me wi fi coverage in bedrooms a distance from the router ~ highly recommend.

Easy to follow instructions. Worked first time. Signal stronger than from the wifi hub provided by internet service provider.

Absolutely brilliant. We had a dead spot on one side of our house upstairs and this has done the trick. Works perfectly running a TV and fire stick with no buffering at all and other devices upstairs

This is amazing. The quality of this item is really good. The connectivity was really easy and straightforward to set up with my current broadband provider and routers. The range seems to be absolutely perfect. We changed over to virgin media just over a year ago and unfortunately we missed the renewal which I would’ve changed because virgin media since having it have been an absolute nightmare in my house. We have always struggled to get a good signal in my children’s bedrooms at the back of the house and slightly the kitchen at the bottom back of the house we are also all people that play consoles mainly of an evening and we were forever dropping out because we just couldn’t play at the same time even though I was playing for the bigger package we had two boosters already one at the top of my stairs and one downstairs from virgin media which did help a little bit but still done absolutely nothing for upstairs in my children’s room at the back of the house after months and months and months of trying to talk to someone at virgin media. I was getting nowhere with this so I decided to try and buy a booster or a mesh booster or something just to try and help what we were paying for I came across this one looked at the reviews and also saw that people had mentioned virgin media and thought I’ll give it a try. It’s set up at the top of our stairs in place of one of the old ones and I have to say honest to God hand on heart we have had no problems with our Internet since we have it

I live in a village with some of the worst WiFi imaginable and I WFH three days a week and a bit of gamer so I have been struggling with my internet for awhile I had bought cheap boosters on Amazon but they barely made a difference but this has been life changing.
I have it plugged in my room which is the other side of the house and upstairs to the router and my wifi is faster then the main router sometimes I can now download games in a few hours rather than days. I can imagine if you have a great wifi already this would just spread it around the house but if you have a bad wifi it does boost it significantly then other booster of the same price on Amazon.
It has a handy app that means you can check it but I don’t use it much but you can turn the blue light off at night which is great as it’s quite bright. (Has a set timer)
It’s not to big and can sit in a double socket and still give you access to the second socket. It does make the switch harder to get to but still reachable.
I would recommend this a lot as I think it’s amazing !! 🙂

I have used a fair few signal repeaters over the years and also have used old routers as repeaters. Recently I was lucky enough to get fibre to the premises broadband from a small supplier. This in theory gives be 300MBS upload and download. However it soon became apparent that the router supplied had pretty poor wi-fi capabilities and the signal was rather weak in the lounge. I decided to try one of these range extenders,
It suits my purpose perfectly. Very easy to set up and I cant see anyone having a problem. WPS pairing worked but I then changed the SSID to match the rest of the network which worked well as roaming devices tend to pair to the strongest signal. The advice with this extender was to place it halfway between the router and the problem area. This is logical enough but I was able to place the device behind the TV in the lounge (blue light on the device shows this placement is fine) which meant I could use the ethernet socket for my PVR. This all works perfectly. Unlike previous extenders I have used this one is very stable and I have not had to reboot the device yet.
Its important to realise that because of the way repeaters work you will not get the same speed as you would next to the router. There are endless clear explanations for this on the internet but in simple terms the repeater has to collect the signal and then pass it on so you might in theory half the bandwidth. So if your actual internet speed from the provider is slow this may not be the solution you are hoping for. My upload/download (just checked) is about 140 MB from the 300. What you will get though if the device is placed correctly is a very strong signal strength, exactly what wifi dongles such as the firestick require.
Based on my experience of ease of setup, usefulness and importantly stability its five stars all the way from me.

Brilliant product. My outside camera kept dropping out and losing signal due to my standard router not being good enough. I ordered this based on the reviews and I’m not disappointed. My signal has gone from weak to nothing to now being great and consistent. I can happily recommend this extender for anyone with dead spots.
Also it arrived the same day as ordering so all in all a great service and product.

This is an absolute lifesaver of a product, my WiFi was giving me about 8mbps and constant lag, I now get 5000mbps and play flawlessly. It has a 5ghz and 2ghz network so you can prioritise what devices make use of the fast speed. At £50 this is a bargain and well worth it. Quick and easy setup and worked with my sky box easily.
5/5 I recommend !!

Very fast delivery. Surprisingly easy to connect to router and get connected. Once you download the tether app, all was easy. Highly recommend this item. Will be buying another to extend Internet further.

Works really well. It’s the second one we have and the signal strength is excellent when within about 20 feet – as long as there aren’t too many walls in between.
Well worth the price.

arrive today. I’d read the comments on the page for the product. was a bit unsure whether it would work or not. was pleasantly surprised. sorted out the black spot areas at the back of the house and even get good. Wi-Fi in the garden was easy to set up. the app is great and easy to use. you can monitor the device and things connected to it
and was surprised that it also has the option of additional security checks on the network. mind you, there are some additional paid for additions but that is optional and potentially not necessary if you have that with your internet provider
I would highly recommend this product
